Jewish Federation Welcomes New Campaign Director

Jewish Federation of Greater Vancouver is pleased to welcome the latest addition to the Annual Campaign team Cheryl Hebb, CFRE, in the position of campaign director. Cheryl comes to Jewish Federation from the Vancouver General Hospital and University of British Columbia Hospital Foundation, where she previously held the director of fundraising for community role.

Cheryl was born in Brooklyn, New York, and prior to moving to Vancouver, she resided in the Greater Los Angeles area for more than 20 years. Since starting her professional life in New Jersey as a reporter for a daily newspaper, she’s worked extensively in the not-for-profit arena, and served at the Alzheimer’s Association, The Dubnoff Center for Child Development, the University of Judaism  and the Jewish Theological Seminary, among others

“We’re excited to have Cheryl join the Jewish Federation team. She brings with her a wealth of experience as a fundraising professional, and a strong understanding of the Jewish community,” said Mark Gurvis, CEO. “Cheryl is in tune with the needs of our community, and shares our passion for continuing to build a strong Jewish community locally, in Israel and throughout the world.”

Cheryl recently completed her MBA at the American Jewish University, formerly the University of Judaism, and holds a CFRE certification. In addition, she has taught Major Gifts Development at California State University, Northridge, and lectured on Quantum Leaps in Fundraising, and new ways to cultivate donor relations.

Keep your eyes open for Cheryl at upcoming events, like An Evening with Alan Dershowitz, and be sure to say hello.
