Description: Jewish Family Service Agency strengthens and enhances the quality of life of individuals and families throughout the Lower Mainland. The Major Gifts Director will be responsible for coordinating annual fundraising programs and implementing special event activities. He/she will report directly to the Executive Director. We seek an enthusiastic and experienced professional, to help us achieve our fundraising and special events goals. Desired Education Degree/Level: Bachelor's
Jewish Education: - Collaborate with ED and Jewish Community Foundation to identify major donors with Jewish Family Foundations
- Work closely with grant writer to ensure that presentations are presented in a professional and timely manner to the Jewish Family Foundations
- Follow up with Family Foundations as required
- Present annual proposals to Family Foundations based on JFSA Menu of Needs and Foundation priorities
Prior Experience: - University degree or diploma in the areas of Business Administration and/or Fundraising Management.
- Proven success creating and implementing fundraising plans.
- Strong interpersonal and donor stewardship skills.
- Excellent computer skills (Word, Excel, and Raiser’s Edge).
- Exceptional time and project management skills.
- Team player, with the ability to work independently.
- Ability to project a positive, professional, courteous and helpful attitude to fellow staff and Executive Director and Board Volunteers.
- Three – five years experience as a fundraiser in a non-profit environment working with volunteers and other professional staff.
Other: - Researches and identifies prospects.
- Researches prospects utilizing Google search and other public sources.
- Develops with ED, Managers, Board, Major Donors, Annual Giving Manager JFSA Menu of Needs
- Utilizes Jewish community sources – JFGV, Jewish Foundation.
- Works closely with Senior Full Charge Bookkeeper to ensure monthly income and expenses charged to various development efforts are accurately reported as part of budget and projections.
- Reviews all correspondence before it is sent to the ED for signature and final review.
- Ensures that accurate coding is utilized and that the Development Administrative Assistant can generate reports utilizing Raisers Edge queries.
